Netflix Review – There’s More to Life Than Movies

By Jamie Jefferson

Since then, we have found Netflix to be particularly great for families with young kids. Sometimes, we draw a blank when we are adding movies to our queue. You can go online any time and add titles to your queue – or rearrange the movies in your present queue. Other times, we watch the movie the same day it arrives and turn around and mail it back the next day. That works out really well for us because we just don’t spend that much time in front of the TV, though the most popular plan, according to Netflix.com, is the $16.99 plan, where you can get 3 DVDs at a time (unlimited DVDs each month.)

Netflix also has some titles that you can watch instantly on your PC. Netflix is a service that I have heartily recommended to my friends because it has so enhanced movie night at our house. There’s a lot more to our lives than movies and our daily schedules are so unpredictable. Now we are much more likely to have a good new movie to watch whenever we can sneak in a movie night.

At the time of this writing, Netflix is still offering a free trial.

How to Play Netflix Movies on TV

By paul Stezo

Why not share the movies with your friends or family by sending the movies to your TV?

step 1 Connect your laptop with your home TV with a S-video cable

step 2 Turn on your PC and start NVDIA control

step 3 Turn on your TV and push the video feed button to find the PC feed

step 4 Connect external loud speakers to the PC

step 5 Start a Netflix movie like normal

Netflix Tips – Getting the Most Out of Your Netflix Subscription

By Peter Rabasa

Netflix was established in 1997, and they offer the ability to rent DVDs online via the Internet. I initially joined Netflix in 1999.

Distribution Center – Having a distribution center near your home or mailing address will determine how quickly you receive your DVDs. If I put my DVD in the mail on Monday, Netflix will receive the DVD on Tuesday and send out a new DVD that same day. IMPORTANT: Please pay close attention to the mailing address on the Netflix return envelope. Do NOT send your DVD back in that envelope. Only use envelopes that have your local distribution center address. If you average $2 per DVD rental, which plan would be the best deal? The 3 at-a-time plan is $16.99 and the 2 at-a-time plan is $13.99.

Getting New Releases – People always complain to me that they never can get New Releases from Netflix, yet I always get New Releases. Netflix will receive your DVDs on Monday. New movies are normally released on Tuesday, but Netflix already has the DVDs ready for shipment on Monday.

“Throttling” or “Smoothing” – Netflix denies that they “throttle” accounts, but I personally experienced throttling. Throttling or smoothing is Netflix giving priority to people who rent less DVDs. Because the DVD came from another distribution center, delivery time was more than doubled. Netflix even sent me the same broken DVD twice. If the amount of DVDs you rent, calculated at $2 per DVD is greater than what your monthly rate is, Netflix doesn’t make as much money; therefore, Netflix gives priority to those who rent less.

Broken, Lost, Scratched, not Playable DVDs – Over the years I have received less than 6 broken DVDs. The majority of the broken DVDs I received were during the time when I was renting 24 DVDs a month. Netflix only received one of the envelopes. Netflix is very good about broken, lost, scratched, or not playable DVDs. Netflix provides a great service, and Netflix also allows you to watch some movies instantly on your PC.

Google nexus one review
 By Mark Agar

The battle for supremacy in the league of the high-end smart phones has begun. Google was not into the business of mobile phones, but now it has entered into the arena and its first attempt seems to be a super success. Google has just released its much awaited Nexus One, the big daddy of all super smart phones available in the market. Google Nexus One has gone ahead of Apple iPhone and Motion’s BlackBerry in terms of the touch sensitivity, features and applications. The Google phone is arguably the best Android mobile phone available in the market today.

This Android smart phone by Google looks beautiful and sleek. Google has decided to offer this new mobile phone in a unique manner. The mobile phone is available to the customers on the web directly and unlocked. The company has also invited numerous carriers to compete with their plans and hardware’s subsidized versions in different parts of the world. In the United Kingdom, Vodafone has won the race as it has been selected as the carrier of the mobile phone. There are numerous followers of Vodafone services and they will be very happy to get the best handset of present times with their favorite carrier.

Nevermind the iPhone, Here’s the Google Nexus One
By Jonathan Cates

In the last 10 years, we have seen an awkward phone temperamental away from the device, for the smooth touch screen of our friends can not live without. All things from our communication of our creation, our entertainment was fascinated by the launch of the iPhone, and now Google’s steps to the plate to put in their two cents.

Of course, Google does not need an introduction. They have the advanced technology since 1998 and has been communicated to us achieve the biggest search engine on the internet, free maps from around the world, and built many web technologies you use everyday without realizing it.

Their new Nexus One “combines innovative hardware from a partner with software that runs on Android to experiment with new features and mobile capabilities.”

The software has been developed in-house by Google, leaving everyone else waiting to see what this means for mobile technology in the next decade. They have been designed almost all the software experience behind the phone, the applications running on it for the look and feel of each screen.

Of course, none of the several thousand Google employees who were given one to test Nexus is supposed to blog or tweet about the features. But they seem to have no problem broadcasting how awesome it was.
One blogger said the bay area “Google Nexus One = iPhone a little extra screen and scroll wheel. Great touch screen, and Android.”

Everything will be sold online directly by Google began in January 2010. But does this mean that everything has changed? We’ll see.
